SWIFTT partners present work at ECMLPKDD 2024

SWIFTT partners from UNIBA were in Vilnius, Lithuania, to attend the ECMLPKDD 2024 conference, the flagship European machine learning and data mining conference, where they presented research results performed within the project.

Giuseppina Andresini presented the paper entitled “Reusing a Pre-trained Semantic Segmentation Model to Map Bark Beetle Outbreaks in Sentinel-2 Images” authored by Giuseppina Andresini, Annalisa Appice, Pasquale Ardimento, Nicola Boffoli, Mauro Carlucci and Vito Recchia in the program of the 1st International Workshop on Data-Centric Artificial Intelligence (DEARING 2024) co-located with ECMLPKDD.

In addition, Giuseppina Andresini and Annalisa Appice were keynote speakers of an invited talk entitled “Monitoring forest health with AI: approaches for mapping tree dieback in satellite data” at the 6th Workshop on Machine Learning for Earth Observation (MACLEAN 2024), also collocated with ECMLPKDD.
